A recommendation for vape supplies

If you are looking for a "upmarket" supplier of Vape equipment and e-juice, then Vaper Empire is one of the better ones. They are located in the UK but have an Australian website which means they can supply nicotine based e-juice which is a godsend for those of us giving up the smokes.

They have a range of their own vape devices which get good reviews and can supply all your needs. Delivery to Australia is both quick and quite reasonably priced.

Day 10.... Got a Delivery Yesterday

Hey hey, got my e-juice delivery from the Adelaide store yesterday.... So fast and fantastic service!

I basically got a set of ten 15ml doublers (they are classed as 30ml but the bottle is only half full with double the flavour strength so you can add nicotine juice) which have a great range of flavours. You can also get them at normal strength in 10ml and 30ml bottles for straight up vaping.

The flavours I got were:
  • Helio - Lemon meringue pie with sweet zesty berries and whipped cream.
  • Iminari -  Sweet pears, fresh cream and a sliver of coconut.
  • Lick The Spoon - Smooth strawberry custard with a hint of orange topped with vanilla bean ice cream.
  • Monkey Kings - Complex mix of peanut/hazelnut butter with ripe bananas and smooth vanilla caramel.
  • Reunion - Vanilla, Vanilla, Vanilla with strawberries and cream.
  • Sub-Dew - Juicy bubblegum with sweet honeydew melon and a refreshing/subtle peppermint.
  • SunWell - Tangy pineapples with juicy peaches and succulent mango.
  • Thalarctos - Dessert, Peanut butter, Coconut, Tobacco, Banana, Cream, Menthol.
  • Tigers Blood - Strawberries and watermelon with a refreshing hint of coconut.
  • Vitis - Grapes. raspberry and a smooth creamy hit.

A couple of the fruitier ones are "shake and vape" style so you can just add your nicotine solution, shake them up and use them straight away in your vape. I mixed up some of the Sub-Dew flavour and am vaping it as I type. Soooo much flavour! puts the other brands I have tried so far to shame.

I will be mixing up some of the others soon and letting them steep for a while to maximise the flavour. Will let you know how they go.

They also came with another vape unit, this time it is a Joyetech D22 XL AIO and it looks really cool. The one I got is red so will give you a run-down when I have tried it out.

All of this cost me $66.99 which is around $2.00 more than I was paying for the tobacco which lasted me 4 days. No brainer really as far as I am concerned.

The place I got these from is called Limitless Vapes and it is Adelaide based. The customer service was amazing and the pricing is spot on. Fast delivery, great communication and all round good guys.

Day 8 and 9 - A new beginning

My latest update in the stop smoking using vaping journey, and everything is going well.

Day 8

The day started off easier than it had on other days with the morning routine now being coffee and vape instead of coffee and cigarette. I still go outside to do this and catch up on all my emails and social media whilst enjoying the morning air.

My lungs are definitely starting to eject all the accumulated tar and rubbish from the last 38 years of smoking and I am feeling quite good. I am coughing a fair bit in the mornings, a clearing cough judging by the phlegm that comes up, but not as much as I was expecting as yet.

Last night I had a couple of thoughts about having a cigarette, funny how the habit keeps coming into your thoughts without reason, but I am firmly reminding myself that I don't smoke and therefore do not need one. Seems to be working so far 😊.

Day 9

Today started off really well even when under a bit of stress as we have a house inspection today. I have not even thought about a cigarette so far today and definitely do not have a craving for one.

Interestingly, I washed out the "butt bucket" ashtray that was in my car this morning and all I could think was that I really should apologise to anyone that was around me while I was smoking. You truly do not realise just how disgusting the smell is until you are not smoking any more. So sorry to all those who suffered because of my habit.

Why All The Vape Machines

Innokin Vape Units
As I showed the other day I currently have 3 vape units that I use. All are Innokin Endura vapes and each has it's own reason for being in my collection. All three are classed as mouth to lung (MTL) style vapes which means they mimic a cigarette in the way you use them.

The biggest one, the silver T22, has a large battery and tank which makes it ideal for an all day vape (ADV) system. You can basically charge it overnight, fill it in the morning and know that it will just keep going all day. Great if there is a specific flavour you like and want to use it for a longer time without having to top up the tank very often.

The smaller silver one is a the T20, which has a smaller battery and tank and also has a different type of coil arrangement. This is great for going out on shorter trips as it easily fits in your pocket and is there when you need it. I am currently using this vape as the tester for the e-juices I have mixed myself as it is simple to clean and refill.

The black one, the slender but longer T18, also has a smaller battery and tank but uses the same coils as the large vape. These coils are also cheaper than the ones for the T20 so I can save costs when ordering. I am currently using this as my "alternative" flavour vape so I can refresh my palette when needed. If you just keep vaping the same thing all day every day, it can get a little boring so this helps to mix things up a bit.

I will possibly start using the black one as my e-juice tester soon as the coils are cheaper so it will be more efficient in that respect. I will then have the alternative flavour in the T22 and use it when out and about.

Which Vape Do I Recommend?

Well, all of them are great in their own right, but if I had to recommend just one of them it would be the biggest one, the T22. It is hassle free, lasts all day and holds a decent amount of e-juice so you don't have to keep topping it up. The coils are cheap and the unit itself is reasonably priced at way under a pouch of tobacco.

The Innokin Endura T22 can be found at Vape King for $49.95, you can also get coils for it there at only $1.75 each. They also carry the other vapes I have too. I do not get any cash for referring you but I do get points which will help support my vaping journey if you by through my link. 😁

Conclusion

So, do you need to have 3 vape units to do this? Well, no you don't. I only got these as I am mixing up my own e-juice so it made sense for that. You could easily start out with one and go only get more if you decide you need them.

Day 5, 6 and 7 - I have stopped smoking!

So, it has been a few days since I posted here, but things have been busy and I have been battling the smoking demon.

Day 5

On day 5 I officially ran out of tobacco at 10am.

Had my last cigarette and then threw away all the associated stuff - lighters, papers, ashtray, etc.

From smoking to vaping.
Today is the day!
I must say it felt good to do it, but also a little scary. Without my vaping I don't know how it would have gone but that has been my saviour so far.

I also received some e - juice to mix with the nicotine base I ordered from the U.S. Looking forward to doing that as it will make things cheaper by far. Of course, it is all experimental so far but the nicotine I got was relatively cheap so I can do that.

Day 6

Oh, the morning is the worst I am thinking....

I got up (was made to get up by the dog) at 6am and let her out to do her morning business. Once I wake up I am usually unable to get back to bed, so I made myself a cuppa and went outside for a cig.

Then I remembered..... I don't smoke any more!

That was difficult. Vaping is similar to smoking, but not quite the same so I still have that mental shift to make. However, I decided to try and mimic what I would normally do in the morning just to see if vaping could be as satisfying as that first cigarette of the morning.

It seemed to work, although at one stage I had to really talk myself out of going to the shops to get some tobacco. I did manage to rationalise my way out of it though as I know I have the nicotine addiction covered by the vape juice so the craving for a cigarette is mainly in my head.

The rest of the day went well, vaping a fair bit but apparently that is common for smokers making the change over to vaping.

My wife (Paula) and I also went and joined the local gym. We both figured it was something that would help get me fitter and be another incentive to stay off the cigs.

I also got my nicotine that I ordered from the U.S. today so have mixed up around 8 different flavours at 18mg which was suggested when previously a heavy smoker. They have to sit for a few days so will let you know how they are doing down the track a bit.

Day 7

Easier today now I have my head around it. Still not a walk in the park but did not have the desire to go buy any tobacco so that is a win I reckon.

Kept busy doing household and business stuff all day and though I vaped quite heavily at times it was not like day 6.

I have been using a premix 18mg "latte" flavoured e-juice since day 5 which is helping to control the nicotine cravings, but the taste is not as good as I thought it would be. For something that is supposed to taste like a latte, it has no coffee taste at all for me, but rather a very sweet caramel type flavour. Will not be my all day vape once I find something better but for the moment it is working.

The flavour is called "Catch You Latte" by Vaporfi in the U.S. I ordered it early last week in a 60ml bottle and it turned up on day 4 in the morning. I did not use it until I ran out of tobacco though as I did not want to double up on the nicotine I was getting.

The total cost including delivery was just over AU$50.00 which is still around $15.00 less than a pouch of tobacco but will last a LOT longer.

I also ordered some e-juice from an Adelaide vape shop which was a brilliant deal. It does not have any nicotine in it, the strength is a "doubler" though which means I can mix it 1:1 with my nicotine to get the right amount for me. It comes in half full 30ml bottles so all you have to do is add the nicotine.

That's all for the moment. I will write up an update for day 8 later today and let you know why I have so many vape machines.

Day 4 - Good day and a look at my vapes

Today's Effort

Day 4 of the quit smoking using vaping journey has been relatively good. Again, the tempting habits were there but it was really hot outside which made it even easier to ignore them.

At 9:30pm I have had 7 smokes for the day - from 6:30am. I will possibly have another before bed, but not sure yet. It looks like I should run out of tobacco tomorrow sometime so it will then be all vape.

My Vaping Hardware

As I said yesterday I will give a quick run-down on what I use as my vape hardware presently. As I am giving up smoking, my vaping hardware is what is known as Mouth To Lung style. This is meant to mimic the action of drawing on a cigarette which is ideal when trying to stop smoking.

My Vapes are all the same brand - Innokin. This was not by design as much as they were available at the time. I am hoping to try some others soon, but as this is self-funded presently it may take a little time.

First Small Vape

Innokin Endura T20
Endura T20
The smallest but newest one is the Endura T20. This is quite a small vape and very easy to throw into a pocket when out and about.

The battery is a true 1000 mAh capacity which unless you are using it constantly (chain vaping) should last most of the day.

It holds 2ml of e-juice which actually lasts for a fairly long time and it is really easy to hold and use.

Mine is silver and black, tube shaped, fills easily and looks very smart.

Second Small Vape

Innokin Endura T18
Endura T18
The Endura T18 is not exactly large either, it is just longer and thinner than the T20. It is also quite easy to carry around with you but is not quite so robust feeling when in your jeans pocket because it is quite long and slender.

This model also has a 1000 mAh battery and a slightly larger tank at 2.5ml which will last a little longer. It is quite pleasant to hold and has a nice draw to it.

My T18 is also tubular and has a quality black finish and looks really good.

The Bigger One

Innokin Endura T22
Endura T22
Last but not least is the biggest vape I have. It is the Endura T22 and is classed as a simple box mod style. It is basically a bigger version of the other 2 but with a different shaped battery (mod) part.

This vape has a 2000 mAh battery which lasts for ages and a large 4.5ml tank which lasts for ages.It is a little more bulky in the hand (and pocket) than the other 2 but is well shaped and surprisingly comfortable to hold and use.

This is brilliant around the house, especially filled with your favourite e-juice as it lasts for days. It is solid and well constructed and feels like it will survive the rigours of every day life.

My silver T22 has 3 blue strips down each side of the battery and looks and works excellently as an every day device.

In Conclusion

All these devices work really well, look great and are ideal for anyone giving up smoking. They are not "cloud chucker" type vapes but are rather designed to emulate cigarette smoking to help people giving up smoking.

Why do I have 3 different vapes? Well, there is a reason but it will have to wait for another post as I am done on this one. Lets just say that they are all being used and all are helping in their own way along my pathway to stop smoking.

Day 3 - sort of easier

Funny, you don't realise just how persuasive the habit of smoking is until you really start to observe it consciously.

What I found today

It's the little things that will catch you out if your not paying attention to them. A familiar routine, a location or a certain task can almost make you subconsciously reach for a cigarette if you don't catch it.

The problem

Old smoking area
Before... way to easy too slip up

Yesterday I sat out in my normal smoking area for a couple of hours without any problems, probably because I was full of determination.

However, this morning I found myself reaching for the cigarettes instead of the vape. I caught myself each time and vaped instead but it could have gone the other why quite easily.

How to beat this

So my advice is this.... If you have an area where you normally smoke and for some reason you still want to use it, try to remove anything that will tempt your subconscious mind.

Non smoking area
After.... no temptation
That is what I did this morning and it made a lot of difference. I managed to control the unconscious habit and cleaned up the back outside area too.

Today's Summary

Total cigarette count today will be 9... sounds bad but I will have been awake for nearly 18 hours by the time I go to bed.

All in all, not a bad day... tomorrow will be better and I will share what I am vaping with on here for you.

Cheers, Ian  😊

Day 2 update

Near the end of the day and have done quite well.

Where normally I would have smoked at least 50 cigarettes in the day, I will finish today having only smoked 10!

The vaping has been brilliant to curb the physical need and is starting to help the psychological part already.

This will be life changing!

Day Two of Quitting smoking by vaping

I woke this morning with determination to make a real go of this quitting smoking plan. Here is how it went.....

The Normal Routine

My usual morning routine is to put the kettle on, put coffee and sugar in my cup and then go outside with the dog and have a cigarette whilst waiting for the kettle to boil. I would then go back inside, make my coffee, grab some treats for the dog, grab one of my Android tablets and go back outside to my "smoking area". I would then proceed to almost chain smoke for the next couple of hours whilst wasting time checking emails and watching stupid You-tube videos.

It was quite common to have 7 to 8 cigarettes per hour doing this, and sometimes I would sit there from 6:30am until 11:30am just killing time (and myself with the cigs I guess). I would only really go back inside to make more coffee and go to the toilet, the rest of the time was just waiting for my next smoke while playing with the tablet.

Today's Routine

MorningThis morning I wanted to change things up, but still be able to sit outside and enjoy the morning. If you remember I said I had half a pack of tobacco left and I am going to buy any more, so my plan is to use that tobacco to transition over the next few days and track how many I am having. My resolve is to have no more than one cigarette per hour today, hopefully even less than that, and use the vape to help with the cravings both physical and psychological.

So outside I went this morning after taking my time to actually make my coffee rather than rushing out immediately. I took my coffee, my tablet and my vape with me and decided to have my first cigarette after being up for just over half an hour. This is a vast improvement on rushing out within minutes of getting out of bed.

Revelation

You know what, that first cigarette for the day tasted horrible and I was so much more aware of how much it made me cough. By the time I was finished it I was even more determined than before. However, after having tried to give up cold turkey, with patches and a few other ways, I was very much aware that just throwing the tobacco out was not the best pathway for me. For some reason it's a mental trigger that makes me desperate to go buy more (I hate you tobacco companies!).

So I sat out there for the best part of two hours, during which time I had quite a few hits on my vape and one more cigarette (one hour and ten minutes after my first one). The second one made me cough again and tasted almost as bad as the first.

And Then....

Vaping inside is not like smoking inside
After the two hours, I went back inside and decided to do some work. I can vape inside, which is something I would never do with cigarettes, so I have been taking drags as I feel I need them for the last one and a half hours. In my head I feel I want to go have a cigarette, but I don't have any actual physical cravings so it is easier to ignore that.

My breakdown of morning cigarettes is as follows:

  • 7:38am - out of bed
  • 8:10am - first cigarette
  • 9:22am - second cigarette
  • 10:20am - went back inside
  • 11:48am - finished this post

Summary

So in just over four hours, I have had two cigarettes! For those that are heavy smokers like I am, you will appreciate just how phenomenal that is. Going from what would normally be 20+ cigarettes in that morning time period to only two is so encouraging. Makes me realise that I can do this and the method I chose should work.

I am pumped and will share more later today on how I am going with this.

Day One

Cigarette butts, another disgusting part of a horrible habit.
Stop this madness!
So, this is day one.... the scary start of the whole thing.

I have done the research and worked out everything I need, have around half a packet of RYO tobacco until I stop and have started vaping with some nicotine e-juice to get a feel for it.

It is a long weekend here in Australia, for Australia day. I figured this was a good time to start as it will also be really hot (40+ degrees Celsius - 104+ F) so won't be wanting to go out if it can be helped.

So, will add more information on what I am using tomorrow and keep going from there. :-)

Starting out

I am giving these filthy things up! Got a vape, got some juice and looking to become healthier in 2018. It's a journey so I will start to blog soon and let you know how I go. #vaping #quittingsmoking
